Sacramento Kings star DeMar Derozan just would not let the end day that Drake will have the last say.

Derozan’s team walked away with the victory through a grind-it-out come from behind, overtime win against their hosts which started the night by retiring the jersey of dunk king Vince Carter.

The Canadian celebrity was expectedly in the arena as among the biggest fan of the Raptors and when invited for the broadcast, he did not waste time to send some shots against former Toronto player Derozan who many speculate could get a banner, too, from the team.

“If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there & pull it down myself,” he said in the broadcast.

There was a few more verbal exchange between Drake and Derozan before the game ended.

The Kings star had the last laugh as aside from the win, he also got to be in front of reporters and send a response to his friend’s way.

“Well, he’s going to have a long way to climb to take it down…Tell him good luck,” he said when asked about Drake’s banter.

Derozan played inspired basketball in the night, scoring 33 points, the most for both teams.

DeMar Derozan already insisted he’s still friends with Drake

There was no acknowledgment from Drake but it is an accepted idea that his comments stem from Derozan’s affiliation with Kendrick Lamar who made multiple diss track about him.

Derozan appeared in Kdot’s concert and music video, prompting fans to think if that means he is no longer friends with the ‘Hotline Bling’ singer who he got close to during his time with the Raptors from 2009 to 2018.

The Kings guard immediately quashed any beef speculation shortly after his appearance in Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’.

“At the end of the day it’s music, entertainment,” he continues. “Two of the biggest rappers in the world went at it from a competitive standpoint and they battled it out.” He compares it to a one-on-one game of basketball between Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.
