Karl Anthony Towns at the start of the season was confused with the kind of system the New York Knicks are going to have under a new coach in Mike Brown. Eight games into the season and the coach finally declared what it is.

Brown recalled his moment with his former player Kevin Huerter when they won against the Chicago Bulls a few days ago and shared that the Bulls guard noticed how similar the offense that they ran to the time they were working together in Sacramento.
“After our game against Chicago, I walked by and told Kevin Huerter, ‘I missed you, man. I enjoyed our time working together in Sacramento,'” Brown shared to reporters after their win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
“He said, ‘Yeah, coach, I did too. Dang, you’ve brought everything that we did in Sacramento here! With the exact same calls! I felt like I was back in Sacramento on offense. I knew everything that was coming.’

Mike Brown wants Knicks to play fast
One notable difference between Tom Thibodeau and Brown is their rotation. The latter’s includes more men and that is important because of the system he wants to implement.
“We’re trying to play the same way,” Brown said.
“We want to play with pace, we want to space the floor the right way. We want to touch the paint. We want to make quick decisions. We want to reverse the ball so the defense doesn’t get settled.”

“That’s our offensive philosophy in general. And our guys are doing a good job of grasping it. And there are actions and concepts that we taught guys as a foundation or a basis, so they can get creative and play out of those concepts.”
The Knicks starting 5 are playing lesser minutes compared to last season and so far, they are starting to buy in to the system Brown wants. They lost three straight but they are now at 5-3 in win-loss column after three successive wins.
