The New York Knicks took over the game against the Miami Heat on Sunday. It was All-Star guard Jalen Brunson who led the team with his 47-point performance. But the Heat also tried to put up a fight, with center Kel’el Ware’s 28 points and 19 rebounds. But that wasn’t enough against New York.
Star forward Bam Adebayo struggled on the floor, only shooting 36.4%. The big man had 14 points in the night. One of the low lights of his performance was when he had an airball from 3 in the first quarter. Knicks legend Walt Frazier had a ruthless joke directed at the Heat star.
“Maybe his girlfriend can help him with his shooting.” Frazier said.

Adebayo is dating four-time WNBA MVP Aj’a Wilson. After Frazier made his joke, fans went on a frenzy on social media.
“Damn they frying him,” a fan said.
“Crazy cause A’ja not an elite shooter herself, he just wanted to get that joke off,” another fan commented.
“Cooked him 😆,” one fan said.

Miami fell to a 15-14 record this season.
Mike Brown continues to campaign for Jalen Brunson’s MVP case following the Knicks’ win

The Knicks defeated the Heat thanks to Jalen Brunson’s performance. He was unstoppable on the floor and is slowly building up his case to win the MVP award. Following the contest, coach Mike Brown couldn’t help but continue to campaign for Brunson’s case in the MVP conversation.
“You’re struggling a little bit offensively, you want to have an MVP of the league on your side,” Brown said. “For him to score 47… that’s what he’s capable of doing, that’s what MVPs are supposed to do on nights like tonight.”

Brunson has been the most reliable player for the Knicks this season. In the past five games, the star guard has been on a scoring rampage. He’s averaged 30.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists during that stretch. The two-time All-Star has also been the X-factor for New York’s 20-8 start to the 2025-26 season.
There are still more games to be played, but Brunson has shown that he’s on a mission to establish himself as one of the league’s best players.
