Milwaukee Bucks are in the gutter right now and they will need every motivation to be able to get out of it. Where will they get it aside from a return by Giannis Antetokounmpo? Kyle Kuzma can only say the most generic thing.

The Bucks are currently 11-18 and have lost three straight games, including a 45-point beat down from the lowly Brooklyn Nets. They have won just two times this month and they are both against contenders in the East – the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics.
They appeared competitive in the last one against the Minnesota Timberwolves but faltered by the fourth quarter before settling for a 100-103 defeat.
Energy is what they have been missing lately. How can they carry over that energy from the moral victory versus Wolves? Kuzma is turning to gods for it.
“I could pray about it, but for us, it just depends,” Kuzma said in an interview with The Athletic’s Eric Nehm.
Turning serious, he said they need to have a mature mentality as they go on the road to wrap up 2025.

“Some games, we’ve had this (competitive spirit). Just recently, too. Boston, we played at this type of level, intensity. And then we come out and play the Nets and it’s the same thing (lack of intensity). You just have to have a mature mentality and we have to approach next game (like tonight).”
Doc Rivers on Kyle Kuzma’s defense late game
The game against the Wolves was within Bucks’ reach. However, a late-game decision from Kuzma basically closed the doors on them. He decided to foul Anthony Edwards with 35 seconds left when they were down by just four points.

Doc Rivers, who was visibly upset by the foul, broke down the play post game.
Doc on Kuzma’s late foul:
“Yeah that was just a bad foul. He said he heard someone yelling ‘foul’ but we gotta know the situation. We came out of the timeout, we knew we couldn’t foul. I thought that just killed the clock for us.” pic.twitter.com/dBnAT9SyZK

No choice but to move on now for the Bucks and next on their schedule are the Indiana Pacers. They also don’t have a Christmas game although all their games before January 2026 are on the road.
