Los Angeles Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht made the crowd at crypto.com Arena lose it on Tuesday night, as he put on a show at LA’s home during a showdown against the visiting Utah Jazz.
Knecht entered the Jazz game on a roll, and his momentum clearly carried into the meeting with Utah, as he exploded for 37 points, including nine triples. He shot 12-for-16 from the floor and missed just three of his 12 attempts from behind the arc.
Los Angeles could not have asked for a better performance from the first-year NBA guard, who also made some history in the LeBron James basketball universe.

“Dalton Knecht is the first rookie teammate that LeBron James has ever had to record consecutive 20-point games.”

Dalton Knecht goes off in Lakers’ win versus the Jazz

James also had a solid outing himself versus the Jazz, as the future Basketball Hall of Famer produced 26 points and 12 assists while shooting 9-for-17 from the field. But it was Knecht, who really had Lakers fans swooning, as the former Tennessee Volunteers star lit up the scoreboard with his incredible shooting display.
Before the Utah game, Knechtscored 27 points in a 104-99 win against the New Orleans Pelicans in the road last Saturday. Over his last four games, Knecht, who was taken 17th overall by LA at the 2024 NBA draft, has averaged 24.3 points while posting a 67.4 field goal percentage.
It will be intriguing to see whether Knecht can sustain his hot form when the Lakers host the Orlando Magic on Thursday.
