Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James played in his 22nd NBA All-Star Game on Sunday. While he’s the oldest and most experienced star in the league, many still consider him the face of the NBA. That includes his close friend and former player Carmelo Anthony.
James is in his 23rd year in the league and remains at the top of his game. But he still receives criticism wherever he goes. On Monday’s episode of his podcast, “7PM in Brooklyn,” his co-host Kazeem Famuyide brought up that there are some Lakers fans who wanted to see the four-time champion get traded at the deadline. Here’s what Melo said in his podcast.

“He’s living long enough to be the villian. That’s what he’s doing. He’s doing everything at the top,” Anthony said. “Still holding this league down. This league don’t move without Bron. I don’t give a f**k what nobody say. It don’t move without Bron. Until he’s gone. His position in this game is bigger than wins and losses throughout the season.”

Anthony said that, given the longevity of his career and influence in the NBA, LeBron James should be able to do whatever he wants to do at this point.
Donovan Mitchell addressed the LeBron James-Cleveland Cavaliers rumors
Before the NBA All-Star Weekend, several rumors linked LeBron James to a potential return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Over the weekend, Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell was asked about his thoughts on the rumors.
“As a LeBron fan, man, to be able to be his teammate would be special. But that’s not something that’s in my control,” Mitchell said. “There’s always gonna be reports, it’s natural, and it’s gonna be a thing.”
According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN in January, the Cavaliers are open to a potential reunion with James in the summer, if he opts to play for a 14th NBA season. The four-time MVP’s contract with the Lakers is up after the 2025-26 season, and could join any team.
