JJ Redick previously said that Lebron James sitting out their last game against the Portland Trailblazers meant more rest for him since it came before their four-day rest. Looks like the Los Angeles Lakers superstar needs more rest.
The Lakers coach said on Wednesday that King James’ status for their Friday game against the Minnesota Timberwolves is still in doubt.
“LeBron is not with the team right now,” he told reporters after their Wednesday practice. “He’s out for personal reasons, excused absence.”
Another source said James is still dealing with a foot issue that has been bugging him throughout the season.
James, who will turn 40 on December 30, is a subject of discussions lately because of his lengthened minutes despite his age.
He previously said that he wants to play all 82 games this season. He is currently logging in 35 minutes per game.
Lebron James trade rumors
It is hard to imagine James becoming an unwanted player given his stature and overall value.
However, that’s what the latest NBA trade rumors are saying with the Golden State Warriors reportedly chasing him out of Hollywood.
NBA Insider Brian Windhorst said the Warriors, who are looking to pair Stephen Curry with another star, keep their dream getting James alive.
Who else is on their list? That’s LeBron James. And I know that this is one of the most fascinating opportunities in the league… The Warriors have dreamed of pairing LeBron with Steph Curry and Draymond Green since last year. That was before LeBron played with Steve Kerr and Steph Curry and won the gold medal over the summer.
Right now, James getting traded remains unimaginable and the Lakers organization are yet to comment on the rumors.
Just like the Warriors, Purple and Gold are just one trade away from becoming a legit contender.
