Throughout this season, Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson has been quite dominant on both ends of the court. This has led head coach Becky Hammon to rave about the two-time MVP after she was named one of NBA 2K’s upcoming featured athletes.
Before Wilson entered the WNBA, she had an illustrious college career at the University of South Carolina, leading the Gamecocks to their first NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship in 2017. The Aces star was also named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.

Wilson continued her success at the professional level, being selected as the first overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft by the Aces. She has since won numerous accolades, including two MVP awards, two Defensive Player of the Year awards, and the 2023 Finals MVP. The Las Vegas star has also represented the United States at the international level, winning a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Off the court, Wilson has established herself as a voice for social justice and has authored a New York Times best-selling book. Her achievements and impact on the sport of basketball have cemented her status as one of the most dominant and influential players in the WNBA today.
Las Vegas Aces Head Coach Becky Hammon Raves About A’ja Wilson’ Upcoming NBA 2K25 Feature

Just recently, Wilson was announced as one of the athletes to be featured in the upcoming NBA 2K25 video game. This prompted Aces head coach Becky Hammon to rave about her franchise player’s achievement in an article published by ESPN.
“When I saw the cover picture I screenshot it and sent it to him. He’s just pumped, because he also loves Jayson Tatum, too,” Hammon said of the Boston Celtics star featured as the NBA cover athlete.
“But A’ja has his heart. He kicks my butt; I quit playing [NBA 2K] because I’m so terrible. “But it’s such a cool honor. It’s like back in the day being on a Wheaties [box]. She’s earned every bit of it. She knows I’m super proud of her.”
This season, Wilson has averaged 26.9 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.9 steals, and 2.7 blocks per game. She is also among the few contenders who can win the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year for the current WNBA campaign.

The decision to feature Wilson is a clear sign that the Las Vegas superstar has arrived and is finally transcending the current state of the WNBA. With her on the cover, expect a lot of fans to pay more attention to the Aces center now.
