LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is often praised for his longevity. Not only is he still playing in his 23rd season, but he’s been dominant for most of it. He holds the league’s record for the most consecutive All-Star Game appearances with 22.
No one knows when he’ll retire from the NBA. But one thing is for sure, his retirement is around the corner and only he knows when it will be. On Sunday, three-time MVP Nikola Jokic had high praise for the Lakers star’s longevity and made a stunning admission about it.

“I mean, just you can see how many players cannot stay healthy and cannot be in the league for such a long time,” Jokic said. “I think being in this league for so long and I’m going to say producing the numbers, he’s still one of the best players in the league, even in this stage of his career.”
“He’s still making a change on the floor when he gets in and making advantage. I think it’s impressive to see that someone is doing that for 22 years. We have some players who are, like, 19, 20 and still they’re in the league. It’s impressive.”
In his 23rd season, LeBron James has appeared in 36 games, averaging 22.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 7.1 assists. Additionally, he’s one of the main options for the Lakers, along with Luka Doncic.
LeBron James gave an update on a potential 24th season
LeBron James has yet to make a decision regarding his NBA retirement date. Ahead of the All-Star Game on Sunday, James revealed that he still doesn’t know if he’ll suit up for a 24th season.
“Yeah, I mean, I want to live,” James said. “When I know, you guys will know. I don’t know. I have no idea.”
James is in the final year of his two-year, $101 million contract with the Lakers. In the summer, he will be an unrestricted free agent and has the option to join any team.
