Many have called LeBron James out throughout his career that has spanned over two decades, and there was another one recently. On Wednesday, a professional fighter took a shot at the four-time NBA champion, referencing some of his old comments on social media.
Colby Covington started off his media interview on Wednesday with a targeted comment at the LA Lakers forward, asking about how he is affiliated with controversial hip-hop artist Sean “Diddy” Combs as well as his recent social media hiatus.
Former UFC welterweight champion Covington, who currently has a mixed martial arts record of 17-4, is slated to face Joaquin Buckley this weekend.
“I wanna ask LeBron, what does he mean by ‘There’s no party like a Diddy party’?” Covington said. “I truly want to know. And not only that, LeBron, how many Diddy parties have you actually been to? I’m really curious to know.”

Covington was referencing LeBron James’ comment on an old Instagram live with Diddy, where he in fact commented the same.

After Diddy was charged with federal racketeering and human trafficking and arrested earlier this year, many have been digging up names of celebrities and notable figures who associated with him.
LeBron James had been called out by Colby Covington in the past
Wednesday was not the first time Colby Covington took a shot at LeBron James. Prior to it, the MMA fighter had a long social media rant about the 20-time NBA All-Star regarding his role in the men’s Olympic team.
James suited up for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics, the first time since 2012. He played alongside NBA stars Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, among others. He also had the honor of carrying the United States flag during the opening ceremonies.
Covington posted his rantings on Instagram at the conclusion of the Olympics.
“You have captain ‘I hate America’ LeBron James bestowed the honor of carrying the stars and stripes,” Covington said. “When I heard he was going to be the one carrying his country’s flag, I thought it was going to be for China.
“What happened, LeBron? Did you finally give equality and justice to all those children and women sewing your shoes? Did you bring those jobs back to the States?”

James won his third Olympic gold medal and fourth overall this past summer. He was also named the Olympics MVP.
Covington was also a gold medalist himself. In 2013, he participated in the World Grappling Championships and stood tall among his weight class.
