Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James has ridiculous numbers and achievements attached to his name but one more thing associated with him is lying for his ridiculous claims about certain basketball related events.
One that got a lot of reactions was when he said that he predicted the late Kobe Bryant will reach 80 points on the day he scored 81 against the Toronto Raptors in January of 2006. He was only in his third year in the league around this time.

James has become a meme for allegedly lying on his comments, including this one about Kobe. He was reminded about it in 2022 by NFL star Jalen Ramsey but he stood on his business.

“Bron you know what they saying on Twitter right now. You be cappin” 🧢

Lebron James on people calling him a liar about Kobe’s game
Lebron is aware of the image he’s having on Twitter for his claims. He himself is at a loss why people refuse to believe him.
“Whoa! I’m telling you, I’m telling you, I’m telling you, people, every time I say something, why does everyone think that I’m lying?” LeBron said in an interview with Complex.
“I got homies that were literally at the house with me when Kobe was dropping 81.”
He also detailed how he came up with that idea that Kobe will get to 80.

“When he got 60, we were watching the game, I’m like, ‘Oh, shit, no, he might go for 80 tonight.’ No, I’m telling you. We could call them on the phone.”
“I was like, ‘Kobe going for 80 tonight’, and he went for 81, so I did lie?”

Bryant scored his 60th point mid-way in the fourth quarter. Given the circumstances, James was on to something. The game was closer to the end and scoring 20 points more in six minutes was hard.
His prediction at that moment might have been shunned by those who were around him.
