17-Year Veteran and Lebron James’ Former Teammate Slammed for Hypocrisy on NBA Nepotism Discussion After Controversial Take on Stephen Curry

The NBA world was quiet about Seth getting to play with Steph as they think the younger Curry is a legit pro but Richard Jefferson thought it is appropriate that he should bring up his connection to the Golden State Warriors star. It should be no big deal if he did not play with Lebron James.

“”[Seth Curry] and Thanasis [Antetokounmpo] have some job security. I’m just gonna put it out there,” the 17-year veteran turned commentator said in the broadcast of the pre-season game between the Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers.

“Seth (Curry) and Thanasis (Antetokounmpo) have some job security. I’m just gonna put it out there.”

It was obvious what he was pointing out, especially with the dragging of Thanasis’ name who is the brother of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Seth joined Warriors last month but said that he did not really want to do it.

“Really, it’s just me in my career just kind of avoiding it, trying to create my own path,” he said on media day.

“I didn’t really want to be on the same team as Steph, for whatever reason.”

He added that he aggressively avoided it early in his career but now, he feels the timing is correct.

    Lebron James has Bronny

Jefferson is accused of being selective for saying that on the broadcast knowing that he is a close friend of James with whom he won the 2016 NBA title when the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Warriors in Game 7. James allegedly got his own son Bronny a spot with the Lakers despite him not being an NBA-caliber talent.

Fans were quick to point out both his hypocrisy and Seth’s capability.

Seth Curry’s had a decade long career as a contributing bench player without Steph. Career 43% 3PT shooter (7th most accurate % wise). Him vs Thanasis or Bronny are not the same.

@Rjeff24 just likes to talk. Seth has been in the league for decade now and has never needed his brother. It’s the first time they’ll be playing together. What a clown statement.

An innocent Bronny has to be brought up because of Jefferson’s statement.

    Now do Bronny

    — ML (@elshorts) October 6, 2025

Richard Jefferson’s got no problem with bronny on the lakers but commenting on Seth curry on the warriors.
    Super bias

    — Ravishkar Ramkishun (@RaviTalksSports) October 6, 2025

Fans have a point about Bronny. Jefferson hasn’t said anything about LBJ’s son and is even on the side of his friend during that infamous confrontation between Bron and commentator Stephen A. Smith.
