LeBron James‘ retirement remains one of the biggest questions in the NBA. No one knows if the Los Angeles Lakers star will call it quits after the 2025-26 NBA season. It’s his 23rd year in the league, and he has just turned 41. Although his longevity is always highlighted, a day will come when he has to hang it up.
On the most recent episode of “Game Over,” James’ agent, Rich Paul, revealed that the four-time champion purchased a golf simulator. The Lakers star has been in love with golf since the summer of 2025. It was the first sign for fans that led them to believe his retirement is close.
“LJ has a beautiful simulator at his house, and I was thinking of getting a simulator,” Paul said.
Fans quickly began discussing James’ possible retirement when Paul discussed it on his podcast with Max Kellerman. Here are some of what the fans said.
“It’s over 🥹” a fan said.
“League is cooked. He’s training to be the first person to win an NBA ring and a Masters Green Jacket in the same calendar year. LeSubPar is coming!” another fan commented.
“Golf is for retired people💔💔💔” one fan pointed out.

LeBron James is accused of practicing his golf swing during the national anthem

Sports radio personality Craig Carton called out LeBron James for allegedly practicing his golf swing during the national anthem. It happened ahead of the Lakers’ game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena.
Carton reprimanded the NBA player for his actions while the Star-Spangled Banner was being played.
“And while the anthem is being played, your guy, the self-appointed ‘King,’ decides that’s a good time to work on my golf swing and disrespect the men and women of the military who gave their lives for this country. ‘Let me get a couple of air swings in while the anthem is being played because I don’t play good basketball anymore. I gotta work on my golf game.’”
