LeBron James is one of the best basketball players to set foot on the hardwood, and he’s not above himself to let everyone know just how good he is. Ja Morant is a high-flying guard with a swagger to match his impressive acrobatic feats.
Any neutral NBA fan would naturally expect a match between two of the most electrifying players in the NBA to be exciting. While James is far from the peak of his powers, his level of production given the wear and tear on his body is nothing short of incredible.

While the Purple and Gold lost to the Grizzlies in embarrassing fashion, fans who decided to watch the game were treated to an incredible as both Ja and King James were trading barbs throughout the game. Fans at the FedEx Forum witnessed the two superstars amping up the trash talk to give the game some flavor.
It would be fair to assume that LeBron was pissed off at Morant. However, the future Hall of Famer’s thoughts on the matter painted a completely different picture.
LeBron James loved talking trash with Ja Morant due to similar upbringing

James was asked about the verbal blows he exchanged with Morant after the Lakers’ 114-131 loss, expecting a juicy soundbite to come out of the vocal star.
What they got instead was a statement of support for Morant.
Per Sports Illustrated’s Liam McKeone:
“Two guys from the inner city that love to compete,” James said. “We all grew up playing on a black top, playing outside, and competing at a high level when there’s no cameras around. It’s a bunch of s— talking going on and playing the game. That’s what the essence of the game is all about.”
James’ stat line made it clear how much the King loved talking smack: he finished the game with a game-high 39 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and a steal. Meanwhile, Morant had a cool 20 points on 41% shooting to go with his four boards, five dimes, one steal, and one block.

This isn’t the last time the two teams will meet again this season, so Lakers and Grizzlies fans can expect more of the same when they square off at the Crypto.com Arena on November 13.
