LeBron James couldn’t have known that a blockbuster trade as what took place between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks would happen, despite people’s assumption of his influence on the franchise’s front office. At least this is what former Denver Nuggets forward and ten-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony thought of the issue.
In one of the recent episodes of his podcast, 7PM in Brooklyn, Carmelo Anthony and his podcast team talked about the blockbuster trade that brought Anthony Davis out of the Lakers and Luka Concic from the Dallas Mavericks to California. For him, he believes Lebron James was blindsided by the deal. The same can be said for Rich Paul, who works as an agent for both James and Davis.
“I just don’t think he knew,” Anthony said. “Even when he was in Miami, Pat was making decisions and wasn’t bringing him a long or letting him know what was going on. Now you in LA and you at a point and a time where, in order to make certain sh*t happen, I can’t put certain people in these situations to actually have influence to f**k this up.
“LeBron couldn’t know. Rich Paul couldn’t know. Nobody else could know. Nobody knew. He knew AD was unhappy, that’s what he knew.”
Carmelo Anthony also added that at least from the perspective of Anthony Davis, the Lakers-Mavstrade was a good trade.
“Let’s get that clear,” Anthony said. “It’s a really, really good trade. Because now, what AD been complaining about, ‘I want to play the four, I want a five with me,’ he got that in Lively and Gafford. He got two athletic fives down there. So you ain’t got to worry about doing all that.”

LeBron James Calls Luka Doncic His Favorite Player
Despite the initial shock and disbelief when the news of the trade broke out, LeBron James is excited to work with a young talent like Luka Doncic. In fact, he called him his favorite player and expressed his excitement for a smooth transition.

“Luka has been my favorite player in the NBA for a while now,” James said. “I’ve always just tried to play the game the right way and inspire the next generation, and Luka happens to be one of them, and now we’re teammates. So it’ll be a very seamless transition.”
Luka Doncic is expected to join LeBron James next week, as hinted by head coach JJ Redick.
