Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James is on top of everyone statistically. They can continue discussing who the Greatest of All Time is but no one can deny that he got the numbers to back up his case.

St. Vincent-St. Mary senior LeBron James, 18, relaxes with a slice of pizza in a North Carolina hotel room on the night before a 2003 basketball game against R.J. Reynolds. In his final season in high school, James led his team to a national title.

King James has the highest points total, alone in NBA history in the 50,000 points league (regular season plus playoffs). He is also owns the record for most playoff wins, and playoff games played. He stands alone at the apex and all of this is because of the length of his career.

He is entering his 23rd season to break his tie with Vince Carter. How can someone last that long, all of those seasons considered prime basketball? James has simple explanation.

    “I don’t know, I think it’s my dedication,” the four-time champion said.

“The man above has given me so many blessings, and then I just try to take full advantage of them by continuing to dedicate, continue not to cheat the game, continue to work on it, continue to work on my craft. I don’t know, just loyal to the game, loyal to the process.”

Lebron James in Top 10 of Western Conference

James will be 41 years old by December but there is no sign he’s going to slow down. He is still in the Top 20 NBA players heading in to the new season but his production remains close to what he has been producing his entire career.

He averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists during the 2024-25 regular season and leveled it up in the playoffs with 25.4 ppg and 9 rpg.

Analysts ranked him no. 9 in the Top 10 players in the Western Conference.

    NBA.com’s Shaun Powell wrote:

James remains capable of filling up a box score, taking the last shot and creating for teammates, all because his pride and dedication to fitness are making that possible. It will be a shocking moment when Father Time finally beats James 1-on-1, because even in his 40s, we tend to suspect he will be around, and at a high level, for a few more seasons.

The load he is going to take might be different than usual as he now has superstar Luka Doncic who will get to start the season with them unlike in the last one.
