LeBron James and Steph Curry are the torchbearers of the NBA today. However, the impact of both players in the game made Iman Shumpert see first hand how the game changed and what it could have been if the Cleveland Cavaliers won the 2015 NBA Finals over the Golden State Warriors.
It is a well-known fact that today’s basketball is definitely not the same as it was ten or 20 years back. One instance where the game of today differs so much from yesteryear’s game is the death of the two-pointer shot. With so many top-performers who are not just physically built much stronger, but strategically wiser playing the game, three-pointers are all the rage today.
Various sports experts and basketball players have often discussed this topic in different forums. Lately, Iman Shumpert, who is mainly known for his college-basketball stint with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, came out to point out the main culprit of this turnaround in the game. Iman Shumpert pointed fingers at none other than King James.
“Has Steph [Curry] ruined the game? Because I also was asked this and I said ‘the person who ruined all of this was [LeBron James].” Shumpert remarked.

Many b-ball experts have often picked Stephen Curry as the player who changed the nature of basketball forever. However, Shumpert seems to think quite differently. According to Shumpert, LeBron James created a super-team wherever he went, creating a powerhouse of offense immediately. This forced other players and teams to focus solely on three-pointers, abolishing the two-pointer for what seems to be forever.

LeBron James’ Shooting Skills Getting Better Like Fine Wine According To Brian Windhorst
Lebron James seems to be only getting better with his age, especially in terms of shooting. When compared to when he first started playing professional basketball, James’ offense has taken basketball’s skill as a whole to another level. This was notably discussed by Brian Windhorst, sportswriter for ESPN.com.
Windhorst, who has been covering the NBA exclusively for most of his career, has followed LeBron James for the best part of his career. Windhorst mainly discussed the current season, where LeBron James has been shooting 46 percent of his shots from the three-point range. LeBron’s numbers are simply excellent this season, and remind Windhorst of Jordan’s later years on the court.
LeBron James is indeed a senior player in the game, with the star turning 40 this year. While his explosive offenses might have slightly declined, James seems to be refining his outside shooting, as per Windhorst. James is becoming a much better three-point player in his late 30’s when compared to his earlier years. The Cleveland Cavaliers star only seems to be picking up newer skills as he gets older, much to the awe and appreciation of basketball fans and experts.
