Ayesha Curry has found herself in the middle of another wave of online backlash, but this time, several names were brought up to make a point about how women are unfairly compared to each other. Sports journalist Jemele Hill took to her podcast to defend Curry while addressing how fans often pit women like her against figures such as LeBron James’ wife, Savannah James, and even former First Lady Michelle Obama.
“I just hate that Savannah is being used, that her life and how she carries herself is being weaponized against other women,” Hill said (Timestamp: 33:07). “Savannah, just because she acquired a person, y’all act like she can’t get LeBron together from time to time. I am sure she does. If you have been married, it happens.”

Hill also referenced Michelle Obama in her point, saying,
“She wound up marrying the President of the United States, that’s why when she was done with the White House, she was done.” The comparison highlighted how even respected public figures like Obama and LeBron James’ wife can be reduced to how “perfect” they appear next to others.
Comparison between two things of the same category is unavoidable. The category today is the Wives of accomplished veteran NBA stars, LeBron James and Steph Curry Edition. This was what started the kind of debate when Ayesha and Savannah were compared, with Savannah getting the pros while Ayesha the cons.
But in the end, the comparison isn’t fair. In fact, it is never fair considering that neither LeBron James, Steph Curry, nor their wives face the same factors and are living the same life, believing in the same principles.
We get that comparison is unavoidable, but it’s never the case of which one is better. It should always be ‘which one suits your needs and wants best?’.
Savannah James Opens Up About Motherhood, Career, And Finding Balance Amid LeBron James’ Fame
Savannah James, the wife of NBA superstar LeBron James, has kept a low profile even if doing it is hard considering that her husband always finds himself in it. And that makes a lot of aspects of her life difficult even if they can afford a few added conveniences.

“There’s always a fear for moms if they are as present with the kids as much as they think they should be,” she said in a past interview. “You should never have a fear of doing what you really aspire to do or what you’re passionate about. You can prioritize and keep the balance. I have a good time with my kids.”
Balancing motherhood, business, and personal goals. That’s what Savannah has always wanted to keep stable, and still does a fine job despite the added difficulties.
