Lexie Hull has carried a big load for the Indiana Fever this year, especially with Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, and Aari McDonald all sidelined. For Hull, the challenge hasn’t just been about wins and losses—it’s been about keeping the team’s spirit intact through wave after wave of setbacks.
In a conversation with Sportskeeda’s Mark Mediana, Hull shared how tough it’s been without her injured teammates.

“Good. It’s hard. Obviously, (Sophie) brings a lot of energy to our team,” Hull said. “So it’s hard not having her, Sydney, and Aari. Not having them on these trips have definitely been a change. We definitely miss what they bring not only on the court, but off of it.
“But their energy has been good. We’ve been texts from them at halftime and they’re watching. They’re giving us their thoughts and their insights. Obviously, it’s different watching on TV and being in person. They’re locked in. They’re a part of this team just as much as anyone.”
The Fever entered the season with title hopes after loading up Caitlin Clark with veteran talent, but injuries quickly cut into those expectations. Clark first battled a hamstring issue before a groin injury ended her sophomore year. Colson tore her ACL, McDonald broke her foot in early August, and Cunningham went down just 10 days ago with a torn right MCL against Connecticut. Even Hull hasn’t escaped unscathed—she took two black eyes against the LA Sparks after colliding with Gabby Williams.

Lexie Hull steps up with game-winning play vs. Sparks
Despite the adversity, Lexie Hull made her mark in Friday’s must-win clash with Los Angeles. The Fever had dropped three straight to the Sparks and badly needed a turnaround.
Odyssey Sims, who spent part of the year with L.A., came up huge with 21 points, including a contested three that tied it at 74 in the final minute. With the game hanging in the balance, Hull set up Sims for a floater that sealed Indiana’s 76-75 victory—an assist that may prove pivotal in their playoff push.
