LiAngelo Ball is back in the spotlight—this time, it’s not about hoops or music, but a very public split. Just three months after marrying influencer Rashida Nicole, the former NBA G-League player has officially filed for divorce.
According to TMZ, Ball submitted the paperwork on July 3 at a Southern California courthouse. The documents list their wedding date as March 24 and state that the two separated on June 15.
What caught fans off guard was the timing. Less than two weeks before the filing, Nicole posted on Instagram announcing her pregnancy. Ball not only liked the post—he also commented with a heart emoji and a lock-and-key, suggesting everything was fine at the time.
But the divorce filing tells a different story. Ball cited “irreconcilable differences” and is asking the court to block any form of spousal support on either side. He’s also seeking joint custody and visitation once the baby arrives.

There weren’t any warning signs online. If anything, the couple looked solid publicly. That’s why the sudden breakup sent social media buzzing—and brought old rumors back into the mix.
Earlier this year, reality TV personality Nikki Mudarris—mother of Ball’s two kids—accused him of leaving her after allegedly getting someone else pregnant. With this recent news, people are starting to draw their own conclusions.

“You Not Me”: LiAngelo Ball Reacts to Online Buzz after filing for divorce
Following the divorce news, Ball didn’t wait long to respond. Speaking to Billboard, he shared how he’s been handling the online chatter.
“I see it, of course. Everybody got a phone,” he said. “But it don’t rub me the wrong way… Nobody really goes through what I do every day. You not me, for real. So it don’t mean s***, for real.”

Ball kept it simple: the only opinions that matter come from his friends and family.
