Under the comments section, his girlfriend Jenna Barber once again showed her support for Reaves in a simple manner, as she commented multiple fire emojis on the post.

Reaves and Barber have been together since their college days at the University of Oklahoma, frequently share glimpses of their bond online, with Barber often posting supportive messages after Reaves’ standout performances. Her emoji-filled reactions and celebratory captions have become a familiar sight to fans following Reaves’ rise in the NBA.

So far, Reaves has opened the 2025–26 NBA season with a breakout stretch, averaging 25.5 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 58.1% from the field.

JJ Redick Praises Austin Reaves, Following “Incredible” Performance

Lakers coach JJ Redick lauded Austin Reaves as the embodiment of readiness and poise after the guard erupted for a career-high 51 points to lift Los Angeles to a 127-120 road win over the Sacramento Kings, posting 11 rebounds and nine assists in the process.

Redick said Reaves “did a little bit of everything” and called the performance “incredible,” noting that the coaching staff and teammates see how he “lives in the moment” and is prepared for every opportunity.

“He was fantastic, did a little bit of everything for us tonight all over the place,” Redick said of Reaves. “These moments are incredible for him. I think his teammates see that, I know as a coaching staff, we see that. He just lives in the moment. He’s ready for every single moment that comes, and it’s a pleasure to be around him every day.”

With LeBron James sidelined by sciatica and Luka Doncic unavailable, Reaves assumed primary playmaking and scoring duties and delivered one of the most complete nights of his career, hitting six 3-pointers and finishing 12-of-22 from the field.

DeAndre Ayton added 22 points and 15 rebounds, and Rui Hachimura contributed 18 as the Lakers steadied themselves down the stretch despite a collective 3-point shooting night of 8-for-25 for the team.

The game offered a clear signal that Reaves’ steady ascent—from undrafted free agent to a 27-year-old on a four-year deal—has entered a new phase, with Redick’s public endorsement amplifying his rising profile and potential payday when he reaches free agency

The Lakers return home to face Portland with Austin Reaves expected to shoulder the offensive load until the team’s stars return from injury recovery.
