Los Angeles Lakers young star Bronny James and his girlfriend, Parker Whitfield, showed off on social media the latter’s pet cat, with whom he shared a cuddly moment in a photo.

In a story on Instagram, Parker Whitfield, girlfriend of Lakers rookie Bronny James, showed her pet cat cuddling her in a warm, whole

some moment. The cat, facing Parker, had its face pressed on her chest, making it hidden for the photo.

“Cuddle bug 🫂🤗🩷,” Whitfield wrote in her caption.

Bronny James and Parker Whitfield first crossed paths as students at Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles. While they were there, James was an elevated prospect for basketball, and Whitfield was a four-year varsity player in softball. Whitfield was a bit more reserved throughout her time in school, and James kept his basketball progress ahead at the same time as moving to the second round of the 2024 NBA draft.

Through the summer of 2024, LeBron James and Khelcey Whitfield’s relationship was made public at the Paris Olympics when they were spotted courtside giving Team USA love as James and Team USA went through Brazil in the quarterfinals and then Serbia in the semifinals.

After months of speculation from the media, their romantic relationship was finally confirmed in October 2024 when Whitfield celebrated National Boyfriend’s Day on social media by honoring James.

Bronny James Trade to Boston Celtics Speculated

Bronny James has unexpectedly emerged in trade discussions as the Celtics prepare for the 2025–26 season, anticipating significant absences and a strategic rebuilding phase. With Jayson Tatum sidelined by a torn Achilles and recent offseason transactions relocating Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porziņģis, Boston’s front office, led by Brad Stevens, appears to be embracing what many perceive as a transitional year before recommencing their pursuit of a championship.

Sports Illustrated analyst Ben Stinar suggests that Boston’s player development infrastructure would provide James with a developmental environment less impacted by the intense scrutiny associated with playing alongside his father in Los Angeles.

While the idea of a trade for the young James would prove to be an interesting move, as it would eventually pit him against his father, the likelihood of him parting ways with the Lakers and with LeBron is close to zero.

During his inaugural year in Los Angeles, Bronny James participated in 27 games (one start), achieving averages of 2.3 points, 0.8 assists, and 0.7 rebounds. In the G League, he demonstrated superior performance, averaging 21.9 points, 5.5 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.9 steals with notable shooting efficiency (44 percent field goal percentage, 38 percent three-point percentage).
