Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has her influence and fame extended not only within the basketball industry but also all the way to the football field, as one NFL star was caught on camera wearing custom cleats considered by her to be Kobe 5 PE shoes.

As posted on X by the account Sole Retriever, Caitlin Clark extended her influence and fame to the NFL field as New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs wore custom cleats with a design inspired by the Caitlin Clark Kobe 5 PE.

The New England Patriots routed the Carolina Panthers 42-13 in their most recent meeting. Stefon Diggs finished with six catches for 101 yards, marking his first 100-yard game since his 22-game drought and a key part of the comeback from his 2024 ACL injury.
The Caitlin Clark Kobe 5 Protro PE is a Nike Player Edition colorway released as a tribute to Clark and inspired by the Kobe 5 silhouette, officially unveiled by Nike earlier this year. It uses the Protro version’s modernized cushioning and scaled-down traction while keeping the Kobe 5’s low-profile, court-focused fit and feel.
The colorway dresses the shoe in Midnight Navy, Bright Crimson and University Gold to reflect the Indiana Fever “Explorer” palette and Clark’s team association, with a high-gloss finish that amplifies its game-day presence.
Early reports and sneaker insiders estimated the SNKRS U.S. run at roughly 13,000 pairs, making the drop limited and driving strong resale demand and rapid sellouts.
Could Caitlin Clark Play in Finals if Fever Beats Aces?
Despite fans not giving up hope for a surprise return, Caitlin Clark would not be allowed to play in the WNBA finals even if the short-handed Indiana Fever pulls off an upset and reaches the championship. This is simply because she was omitted from the Fever’s active postseason roster and is therefore ineligible for playoff games.

Previously, Clark stated that as of Sept. 4, she was finished for the season while recovering from a groin injury suffered in mid-July, fully taking her out of the running and out of the Fever’s playoff push regardless of how far they went.
The Fever have done better than expected without a number of key players injured, and their unexpected playoff run has caused fans to ask questions regarding roster and postseason rules. Other injured Fever players who were not available to the playoffs were Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald, Sophie Cunning, and Chloe Bibby, who also did not make the active postseason roster.
During the 2025 season, Caitlin Clark missed 31 of 44 regular-season games, playing only 13 games, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game. She shot 38.2 percent from the field and 36.1% from distance.
