Caitlin Clark wasn’t on the court, but she made sure people knew she saw what happened after Indiana Fever’s dramatic win over the Atlanta Dream. Even though she is out for the season due to injury, Clark expressed gratitude and respect toward the crowd in Atlanta.

“I felt like the last time we were here, there were a lot of just basketball fans,” Clark said. “A lot of people that really appreciate the game and understand the game … It’s really fun getting to see young kids in your jersey, trying to take some time to interact with them.”
Caitlin Clark was asked about visiting Atlanta again and had good things to say about the city’s basketball fans.

Clark is ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season with a right groin injury sustained July 15. The Indiana Fever announced there is no enough time left to return safely.
Even while watching from the sidelines, Caitlin Clark’s influence is clear. Fans packed State Farm Arena, many in her jersey. Despite her absence, the energy didn’t die — and Clark seems to recognize that her presence, even off court, still matters.

Clark said: “I had hoped to share a better update, but I will not be returning to play this season,” adding, “disappointed isn’t a big enough word to describe how I am feeling.”
There has been big strides when it comes to Caitlin Clark’s recovery, but CC and her team knows how important it is to do things slow. She needs to integrate her physicality gradually back onto the hardwood. And that’s the same sentiments that her other compatriots agree with. So while she is still down and out and unable to let her game do the talking, we’re all treated to how CC lets her talk do the walkin’.
Fan Reactions Show Caitlin Clark’s Absence Doesn’t Dampen Fever Support
Fans have been loud and clear: even when Caitlin Clark is off the court, her pull is strong. Comments online show people are still watching, arguing, and emotionally invested.
“They don’t need Caitlin Clark at all,” fan @swappenny said. “B-but I thought people were going to stop watching once Clark got hurt?” another fan asked. “So, is it not all about Caitlin Clark?” another fan said. “when you have media contracts that play the games on ever bar and restaurant screen you get a 30% inflation in ratings… GO FIGURE,” fan @FrozenKeeper commented.

Someone else said, “But I thought no cc means no views,” while another wrote, “They finally realizing good hoops clears drama. I might have to tune in someday.”
Meanwhile, Clark herself said: “I had hoped to share a better update, but I will not be returning to play this season.” But she is aware of the overwhelming support and has this message: “I want to thank everyone who had my back through all the uncertainty.”
A testament to the strong gravitational pull that Caitlin Clark possesses, even when she can’t mesmerize fans with her ball game. CC is still a force to be reckoned with.
