It looked like Dwight Howard and Amber Rose were heading for a quick split, but things may not be so simple. Rose — who also performs as rapper Amy Luciani — filed for divorce from the former Lakers big man on July 1, just six months after their wedding.

Yet on Tuesday, Rose posted a couple of Instagram stories that raised eyebrows. One photo showed the pair sitting together inside a car, while another featured Howard lounging on a green chair with Rose standing close by.
The two married on January 11, 2025, but cracks appeared quickly. Rose’s filing cited the marriage as “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects of reconciliation.” Now, her latest posts suggest at least a hint that reconciliation isn’t entirely off the table. Neither has confirmed whether the divorce is being called off or if they’re just spending time together as they sort things out.

Even with all the speculation, Rose hasn’t been shy about addressing critics. After announcing the split, she faced backlash for requesting an equal division of marital assets. Some accused her of chasing Dwight Howard’s money — claims she firmly denied.

On July 10, Rose issued a statement across her social media, clarifying she had been the one to ask Howard for a prenuptial agreement before they tied the knot.
“With such a private moment like a marriage ending. I really do want to keep a lot private but it’s hard to watch this narrative spreading quickly about me. I plan on speaking on this one time only,” she wrote.
She continued: “I til this day have never asked him for a single dollar. Not 30 cents. Before we married I asked to sign a prenupt. I text it right to him. I told him I want to sign a prenupt because I believe what you worked for is yours and I’m not the type of woman to take what’s not mine.”
Rose closed by stressing that her intentions were genuine, saying some women marry for love, not wealth. Whether her marriage to Howard survives remains to be seen — but for now, her message was loud and clear.
