Liz Cambage, former WNBA player, just entered the spotlight after departing from the league in 2022, but for a completely different reason. The Aussie center didn’t hold back on sharing her meetup with NBA star Kevin Durant at a recent Drake concert, fueling rumors from the fanbase.
Cambage poured gasoline on the rumor mill Wednesday, posting an Instagram story showing her with Durant. The two even struck a shooting pose—Cambage owning it with zero hesitation, Durant playing it coy.

Fans quickly went to social media, buying into the tales that Liz Cambage and Durant are in the talking stage. And as usual, some were witty.

“Don’t know her, but congrats to Kev,” one user wrote. “she fine tho.”
“Ask him, ayo @KDTrey5, this true?” one remarked.
“He tryna make a created player in real life. Kid gon be so good , this gon be pay back for our years of trollin him,” one commented.
“The Super Mega Basketball players they could create OMG,” one wrote.
“Kd and a woman? We know this is centel,” one added.
Liz Cambage’s name is buzzing again, though plenty of basketball fans still wouldn’t recognize her at first mention. Before she ever set foot in the WNBA in 2011, she had already spent four years playing overseas. Cambage also became a part of the Australian national team at the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics—though she pulled out of the Tokyo Games in 2021.

Meanwhile, Cambage’s rumored partner, Kevin Durant, is widely hailed as one of the greatest of his generation, winning two NBA titles. However, his personal life, especially his love life, is widely hidden from fans. He’d dated eight partners and even gotten engaged to former WNBA star Monica Wright—only to call it off shortly, saying the vibe just wasn’t there.
Where is Liz Cambage now? And what happened during her time at the WNBA?
As said, Liz Cambage isn’t widely known in the WNBA, and it’s all for the right reasons. Drafted 2nd overall by the Tulsa Shock, Cambage quickly shone on the court, winning All-Star and First-Team honors. She still holds the league’s record for the most points in a single game, with 53.

However, Cambage’s attitude wasn’t appreciated by many, and in fact, has caused multiple controversies. She made racial remarks and had heated confrontations, ranging from calling a coach a “little white man” to calling a Nigerian team “Go back to your third world country,” in 2022.
Soon, in the same year, Liz Cambage agreed to be released by the LA Sparks, and has been a free agent for months. Now, she’s in China with the Sichuan Yuanda, where she won a title last year.
