The Los Angeles Lakers will need a big year from Anthony Davis if they plan to make noise in the Western Conference. During a recent media availability session, the 32-year-old spoke about his intention to dominate and take on a larger leadership role for the squad.

“Being aggressive down the floor, being dominant every game. Just doing my job, doing my part, we’ve gotta do what we’ve gotta do. Taking on the matchups defensively, taking on a role offensively, being a leader of the team, carrying us in games and the Playoffs, whatever it takes,” Davis stated via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
Anthony Davis is coming off his healthiest season in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform. In 76 regular season appearances in 2023-24, The Brow averaged 24.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.3 blocks per contest on 55.6 percent shooting from the field.

He was named to the All-NBA Second Team for the first time and to the NBA All-Defensive First Team for the third time in his career. Despite this, the Los Angeles Lakers suffered an early exit in the playoffs, losing to the Denver Nuggets in five games during the first round.
Anthony Davis aims to shoot more threes for the Los Angeles Lakers
Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick wants his players to shoot more three-point shots this season, and Anthony Davis is no exception.

Since the 2019-20 campaign, Davis has never shot above 33 percent from beyond the arc for the Los Angeles Lakers, and the nine-time NBA All-Star says he is working on it this summer.
“At the end of one practice, he (JJ Redick) was in front of the group. He said you shoot them in practice but we need you to shoot them in the games. After I shot nine in Phoenix, he said it again,” Davis said. “He’s constantly on me, and not just him, D’Lo, AR, Bron, everybody. They tell me to shoot more, I’m gonna let it fly. I might shoot 15 this season.”
