Austin Reaves made a considerable impact in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 125-109 road win over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday evening, as he put up 15 points, four rebounds, and two steals on 3-for-9 shooting from the field and 8-for-10 shooting from the free throw line across 21 minutes off the bench.
After the game, the Los Angeles Lakers combo guard explained how badly he wanted to return to the court because he was “bored” on the sidelines, missing 19 consecutive games due to a left calf strain.
“I’ve been bored for a little over a month now. Sitting on the bench sucks,” Reaves told Spectrum SportsNet in his postgame interview. “Think all I did for the month and a half was yell at the refs. That’s no fun. It’s better to yell at them on the court.”
“Just trying to do the right things every day… I wish I was back a little sooner, but it’s good to be back. It’s miserable when I’m not playing. I’m pretty bored,” he added.

Los Angeles Lakers News: LeBron James reacts to Austin Reaves’ return vs. Brooklyn Nets
Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James doubled down on Austin Reaves’ take on his on-court return, saying that the latter gave them a massive boost vs. the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday evening.
“He’s just a boost for all of us, especially at the end of a road trip, you get a guy like that back. Obviously, his rhythm is a little bit off, but s**t, he still made an impact. We’re just happy to have him back,” James said of Reaves.
“At the end of the day, we’re all NBA teams. We have to figure out a way to execute. We want to finish the trip off the right way. It’s an eight-game road trip, we went 5-3,” he added.
