The Los Angeles Lakers are about to finish their preseason schedule with three more games left on their plate before the start of the actual 2024-25 NBA campaign. However, there is a possibility that the Lakers will not have Austin Reaves again on the court when they take on the Golden State Warriors this Tuesday night in Las Vegas.
Reaves missed the Lakers’ recent preseason games versus the Milwaukee Bucks on the road on Oct. 10 because of a sore ankle. According to Los Angeles head coach JJ Redick, there is no assurance that the former Oklahoma Sooners star will be able to suit up and see action against the Warriors.
Austin Reaves, who sat out the MIL game with a sore ankle, went through the non-contact portion of today’s practice in a brace. JJ Redick said he’s day to day and did not rule out Reaves playing in Vegas on Tuesday vs GSW

Los Angeles Lakers can take it easy with Austin Reaves’ injury

The Lakers can just err more on the side of caution here and let Reaves rest than risk aggravating his injury in a game that ultimately does not have much bearing.
Reaves, who is playing on a four-year deal worth $53.83 million that he signed with Los Angeles in July of 2023, is coming off a solid season as part of the Lakers’ supporting cast behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. In 82 games in the 2023-24 season, Reaves averaged 15.9 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.3 rebounds.
