Bronny James is the most talked about rookie heading into the 2024-25 NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers despite being picked No. 55 overall in the 2024 NBA Draft.
He’s being talked about as a No. 1 overall pick and has received a ton of criticism for his slow start. No one should have been expecting him to come out looking like his dad.
Of course, being the son of a legend like LeBron James comes with added pressure. The younger James simply needs to tune out the negativity and focus on his development and improving his game.
All of that being said, Bronny James has produced a very brutal statistic throughout his first three preseason games with the Lakers.
Los Angeles Lakers’ Bronny James Has 1 Brutal Preseason Statistic So Far
Through his first three practice games with Los Angeles, James has produced the worst plus/minus of all 494 players to log minutes. Clearly, that’s not an ideal statistic to hold the lead in.
The Sporting News were the ones to reveal that statistic.
James has scored just two points in three preseason games. There are still three more exhibition games for him to turn things around, but the first look at him has been rough.
Obviously, the Los Angeles Lakers do not envision Bronny being a key part of their NBA rotation this season. He is going to spend a lot of time at the G-League level working on his craft. However, he could see some game minutes.
Thankfully, he is in an organization that believes in him and is committed to developing him. Head coach JJ Redick has been very vocal about believing that James will become a nice piece in the future. The front office and ownership have also been vocal with their support of James.
Hopefully, he’s able to find a bit of success over the next three preseason games. Getting him some confidence heading into the season and shutting down the deafening noise of the media and fans would be big for the Los Angeles Lakers’ rookie.
