The Los Angeles Lakers were missing many of their key players Thursday night when they hosted the Milwaukee Bucks at Crypto.com Arena.
As such, rookie guard Bronny James was given the opportunity to play heavy minutes. Although the Lakers suffered a 118-89 loss to the Bucks, the former USC Trojans guard gave a good account of himself on the floor, as he came off the bench and scored a team-high 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the field with five assists and three rebounds plus a block in 30 minutes of action.
Los Angeles Lakers’ JJ Redick speaks up about Bronny James after loss to Bucks

Amid all the criticism that James has been getting mostly for simply being in the NBA and the son of LeBron James, Lakers head coach JJ Redick praised the first-year NBA guard for managing the outside noise.
“I’ve just been impressed with the person that he is,” Redick said. “And to deal with…frankly, bulls— because of who his dad is and just keep a level head about it and be a class act says a lot about him, says a lot about that family and the way LeBron and Savannah have raised him was obvious to me from the moment I started spending time with him on the court this summer. He was certainly going to be an NBA player and I still believe that he’ll be an NBA player.”
In 22 games played this season with the Lakers, Bronny has averaged 5.6 points3.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists while shooting 35.4 percent from the field.
As for the Lakers, they will look to recover on Saturday when they take on the Chicago Bulls in the finale of their five-game home stand.
