Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James was moved to tears when he watched the Cleveland Cavaliers’ video tribute to him on Wednesday night, which might have been his final NBA game in his old stomping grounds.
After the game, James was (again) asked about his thoughts on retirement since he’s not getting any younger. The Los Angeles Lakers star admitted he will make a final decision in due course.
“I’m just trying to take everything in, not take the moments for granted,” James said via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “Because it could be (my last season). I obviously haven’t made a decision on the future, but it very well could be.”
“Obviously, the question gets asked more, and the thought creeps in my mind more at 41 years old of when the end is, and where’s the finish line for us to hang this thing up,” he continued. “But the drive is how much, like, juice I can squeeze out of this orange… I’m in a battle with Father Time, and I’m taking it personal, and I am going to see how many more times I (can) be victorious over him.”

Los Angeles Lakers News: LeBron James reaches another longevity milestone vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
LeBron James struggled during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 129-99 blowout defeat against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night. He finished with only 11 points, three rebounds, and five assists on 3-for-10 shooting from the field in 27 minutes of action.
According to Los Angeles Lakers reporter Jovan Buha, after his 24th minute last night, James became the first player in NBA history to have reached 60,000 career regular season minutes. Right behind him is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who logged 57,446 minutes.
In other news related to James, Dave McMenamin of ESPN recently reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers would “gladly welcome” him back should he want to return in free agency this offseason.
