Playing in his 22nd season in the NBA, Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James is still playing at a, well, superstar level. On Friday night, the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player played a huge role in helping the Lakers prevent a three-game losing skid, as he came up with an incredible stat line for a player about to turn 40 years old in a little over a month.
In the Lakers’ 116-106 win at home over the Philadelphia 76ers, James powered his team with 21 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds in 34 minutes of action. He also shot 9-for-14 from the field and hit two of his four attempts from behind the arc.
With James still going strong on the court, he could very well break an NBA record he set during his 21st season in the pros.

LeBron James continues to produce at a high level for the Los Angeles Lakers

Through nine games in the 2024-25 campaign, James is averaging 23.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game while shooting 52.3 percent from the floor.
His 3-point shots have been consistently hitting the mark as well despite his increased usage of the shot. So far t his season, James is attempting 5.7 shots from behind the arc per game, with his 3-point attempt rate at 34.2 percent — both numbers are higher than what he posted a season ago.
Sustaining his current form for an entire season is a huge challenge for James. Then again, “The King’ delivers.
