Slovenia is back in the FIBA EuroBasket quarterfinals after winning 84-77 against Italy, as Luka Doncic led the way with 42 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, and five three-pointers on 11-for-19 shooting from the field.

After the game, the Los Angeles Lakers guard was named the “most complete” basketball player by the Italian “Basket Magazine.” Slovenia will face the reigning FIBA World Cup champions, Germany, in the next round.
“Luka is the most complete player that exists in basketball,” Basket Magazine wrote. “Equally good on four positions, he knows everything and dominates in all statistical categories, now even in defense.”

Doncic has been a stats monster for Slovenia at EuroBasket. Before the start of the knockout phase, the Los Angeles Lakers guard led in three out of four major statistical categories after averaging 34.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 3.2 steals on 46.2 percent shooting from the field.
Los Angeles Lakers plans to continue pursuing $90 million forward, claims insider
The Los Angeles Lakers will continue to build around Luka Doncic, and they were once linked to a potential move with Andrew Wiggins. According to Marc Stein, the team is still interested in acquiring the Miami Heat swingman.

“Wiggins, 30, will earn $28.2 million this season and holds a $30.2 million player option for 2026-27. I wouldn’t have classified him as a potential purple-and-gold target before Dončić’s long-term future was secured, but things are different now,” Stein explained.
“So my sense is that the Lakers would have interest if the Heat, in coming weeks or months, decide to prioritize financial flexibility and look to reduce payroll,” he added.
