Due to his untimely passing in 2000, almost any piece of memorabilia related to Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant has the tendency to go up. This is evident in one of the late star’s autographed cards that boasted an insane starting bid.
Bryant spent his entire 20-year career with the Lakers and built his legacy with them. He was drafted straight out of high school by the Charlotte Hornets in 1996 and immediately traded to the Purple and Gold, where he went on to become one of the most iconic and successful players in NBA history.

During his tenure with the Lakers, Bryant won five championships, was named the MVP in 2008, and was an 18-time All-Star. He was known for his fierce competitiveness, unparalleled work ethic, and extensive skillset, making him one of the most dominant and influential players of his era.
Off the court, Bryant was also an accomplished entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist. He ventured into film, television, and music, and used his platform to support various charitable causes. Tragically, Bryant’s life was cut short in a 2020 helicopter crash at the age of 41, leaving an indelible mark on the basketball world and beyond.
Los Angeles Lakers Legend Kobe Bryant’s Signed Cards Up for Auction With Insane Starting Bid

Unlike Michael Jordan’s acceptance letter and Clyde Drexler’s 1992 Olympic Gold Medal, Bryant’s autographed card made by Panini and graded by PSA has several bids now. As seen in a listing by Goldin on its website, the piece of memorabilia’s value has gone higher.
“Graded MINT 9 by PSA, with Autograph Certified and graded MINT 9 by PSA/DNA (64767691). Hall of Famer. The card itself displays a highly favorable manner of appearance, with any evidence of past circulation barely perceptible to the naked eye.
Cards possessing this breathtaking combination of style, exclusivity, and historical significance do not frequently exchange hands, making this auction event a truly once-in-a-lifetime offering. A statement on the card affirms the manufacturer’s guarantee of authenticity for the piece’s content and serves as the item’s COA. The limited-edition piece is hand serial-numbered “1/1,” the Goldin listing stated.
Since the card itself is the only one of its kind in existence, it has sufficient reason to garner the high price it present has in the market. Add the mint grade of 9 to the equation and starting bid of $250,000 will make sense.

At this point in time, the Kobe Bryant card has now reached a bid of more than $350,000. With the late Black Mamba’s appeal to collectors, it isn’t hard to see this item getting more expensive soon.
