The tight relationship between LeBron James and Dwyane Wade is common knowledge. Even when the forward was already playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, almost every NBA fan who followed the league for the past fifteen years knows the great relationship the two greats share on and off the hardwood.
While Wade has already been away from the NBA spotlight for years now, LeBron is still actively playing in the league. There are even reports suggesting LeBron would be willing to take pay cuts if it means boosting his team’s chances of winning an NBA title.
While their bond on the court is something only NBA pros can dream of, their off-court friendship is also something else. Everyone can see that their friendship is for life, and their on-court play is a testament to the great relationship they share off it.
The link between the two greats is so great that Wade even took thet time to congratulate Bronny James for making his father’s dream a reality.
Dwyane Wade reacts to Bronny James joining LeBron’s Los Angeles Lakers squad
Almost no one was surprised when Bronny James was selected 55th overall by the Lakers in the 2024 NBA Draft. While some may think he’s still undeserving of his spot in the league, one can argue that Bronny has as much potential as the other players drafted above him.
Wade didn’t hesitate to go on social media and congratulate Bronny for being part of a feat that has never happened in the league before:
One of the dopest moments in our sport! Congrats, Bronny! 🫡🫡 https://t.co/zHSjK6albx

It must have been weird to see Bronny grow up in front of his eyes. For him to see the young child become the young man picked by the Purple and Gold is a testament to how far he and LeBron have gone.
Will Bronny James cut out a career with the Los Angeles Lakers?
While Wade’s sentiment is nice and all, there are doubts over Bronny’s ability to maintain an NBA career should his father finally decide to hang up his shoes.
His collegiate career doesn’t instill confidence: he finished his only year in USC with averages of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists a game. These numbers don’t shout NBA-caliber player to even the most casual of fans.
However, the Lakers may know something we don’t, and it’s up to the young man to prove everyone wrong.
