LA Lakers star Luka Doncic had a remarkable performance against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. The 6-foot-6 point guard scored 21 points in the first quarter to help the Lakers get a 46-29 lead over the Nuggets.
Doncic displayed a certain kind of offensive intensity that got his defender, Nuggets forward Peyton Watson, tilted enough to exchange heated words with him. While Watson showed flashes of solid defense against Doncic, he was ultimately unable to completely prevent the Slovenian star from scoring. There was however an instance when Watson managed to block Doncic’s shot attempt when the Lakers star attempted to post up.
X user @legendz_nba managed to capture the audio of the banter between Luka Doncic and Peyton Watson after that play and shared the clip.
“Give me that s**t,” Watson told Doncic.
“Shut the f**k up,” a smiling Doncic replied. “You know that.”
In another play later in the game, Doncic drew a foul from another Nuggets forward, Spencer Jones, and was sent to the charity stripe. When he missed his first shot, a Nuggets fan heckled Doncic, saying, “Ball don’t lie.”
The heckler repeatedly heckled Doncic until he finally responded, saying, “Shut the f**k up… I got 20 (points) and you talking about ‘ball don’t lie.’”

The fan didn’t stop with the heckling, but it also didn’t stop Doncic from making his second free throw. Before going back to defense, the Slovenian turned to his heckler and returned his words to him: “Ball don’t f**king lie!”

The Lakers eventually won the game 120-108, finishing their regular-season series against Denver tied at 2-2. They capitalized on the absence of Nikola Jokic and Jamay Murray, who were both sidelined with injuries. Doncic finished with 31 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in 32 minutes of playing time.
Luka Doncic to miss Lakers’ game vs the Milwaukee Bucks
Unfortunately for the LA Lakers, Luka Doncic will miss their game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, the five-time All-NBA star is out due to a sprained right ankle.
“Lakers star Luka Doncic will not play tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks as he continues to manage a sprained right ankle, sources told ESPN,” McMenamin reported on X. “Thursday marks the final game in L.A.’s brutal six games in eight days stretch of the schedule. LAL has gone 3-2 so far.”
