There are rumors that the Dallas Mavericks want to make a significant adjustment with Anthony Davis. Initially, the Mavericks stated that they have no plans to move Davis after they fired Nico Harrison as general manager. However, recent talks have linked the star big man as a potential trade piece.
ESPN’s Tim MacMahon linked the Mavericks to the Atlanta Hawks on Monday’s episode of “The Hoop Collective.” According to the insider, Dallas is interested in making a deal with Atlanta, which could be a potential trade destination for Davis. However, MacMahon revealed that the Texas-based team isn’t interested in absorbing Trae Young and his expiring five-year, $215 million contract.
“The Mavericks would like to work out a deal to send Anthony Davis to Atlanta, but Trae Young’s not going to be part of that,” MacMahon said. “They want to move forward with Kyrie Irving as their point guard. You’re not gonna play those two guys together.

Anthony Davis has been inconsistent for the Mavericks in the 2025-26 NBA season. Due to his ailments, he has only played in 16 games, making it difficult for him to contribute much. Throughout that stretch, he’s averaged 20.5 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
The Warriors are interested in trading for Anthony Davis

Despite the injury history that Anthony Davis has sustained over the years, he’s still a big star who has garnered interest from other teams. Aside from being linked to the Hawks, Davis’ name has also been mentioned as a trade target for the Golden State Warriors.
NBA insider Marc Stein reported that the Warriors have had internal discussions about a potential deal to land Davis. However, some issues could threaten Golden State’s plans with Davis if that trade becomes a reality.
“The Warriors have held a longstanding fondness for Anthony Davis and I’m told that they have indeed had some internal discussions about pursuing him, but they do not appear to be actively doing so six-ish weeks out from the deadline,” Stein stated.
Stein said that one way for the Warriors to acquire Davis is if they part ways with Jimmy Butler or Draymond Green. The insider also pointed out that AD’s injury history has put a pause on the Warriors’ plans to make a move to acquire him at the trade deadline.
