Sharpshooter Klay Thompson is experiencing the least productive season of his career, averaging 11.6 points and shooting 38.8% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range through 49 games with the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks currently hold a 19–35 record and are 12th in the Western Conference standings.
But off the court, though, Thompson’s winter has looked a lot better as he gifted his girlfriend, rapper Megan Thee Stallion, a baby blue Bentley for her 31st birthday. It is a Bentley Mulsanne that has been valued at around $400,000, per rap.housetv.
Megan posted the whole reveal on Instagram, showing off the powder-blue whip wrapped in a matching blue bow. But within 48 hours, the Bentley pics had gone viral — and so had a rumor that had absolutely no basis in fact.
Megan Thee Stallion reportedly ditches Klay Thompson on IG after lavish present
Someone posted a screenshot on X showing Megan’s Instagram account with a search for “klaythompsон” returning “No users found” — and that was enough to ignite a storyline claiming Megan unfollowed Thompson the day after he dropped six figures on her birthday.

The post asked, “What really satisfies a woman?” and racked up hundreds of shares before users started doing their own digging.
MEGAN THEE STALLION REPORTEDLY UNFOLLOWED KLAY THOMPSON JUST A DAY AFTER HE BOUGHT HER A BRAND-NEW BENTLEY. WHAT REALLY SATISFIES A WOMAN? 💀 pic.twitter.com/XaYIJ7Pqrz

However, according to verified checks, Megan maintains a very small following list of about 60 people, and there is no record of her ever following Thompson to begin with. In short, she couldn’t have unfollowed him because she never followed him in the first place.
When she shared photos of the gift, Megan admitted the surprise caught her off guard. She thanked Klay on Instagram, writing, “Aw man I was not ready for this birthday trip to be over. A time was definitely had. THANK YOU BABY.”
Folks, however, caught the fake rumor firsthand, and they weren’t buying it for a second.
“This is fake. They never followed each other,” one user wrote.
Another one added, “First of all, they never followed each other. In what world does love mean you have to follow each other on Instagram?”
A third put it bluntly, noting “Um, they never followed each other, stop clout chasing for clicks.”
A fourth penned, “Hate to break the news, but lmaooo they never followed each other.”
The original post used the word “reportedly” without citing a single source. It was clear clickbait, using the real Bentley gift to manufacture fake drama for engagement.
In reality, the couple has been together since July 2025 and even bought a house together in October. Megan has publicly called Thompson the kindest person she’s ever dated. Their relationship appears stable and public, making the “unfollowing” rumor nothing more than internet noise.
