Not much were expected from the Memphis Grizzlies in their game Minnesota Timberwolves and as expected, the latter cruised to a double digit win.
Coach Tuomas Iisalo did not have seven of his main rotation players in the Saturday match. They are Ja Morant, Scotty Pippen Jr., John Konchar, Santi Aldama, Zach Edey, Brandon Clarke, and Jaren Jackson Jr. Wolves, meanwhile were in full force as the ones missing in the squad barely crack the rotation or Chris Finch’s minutes.

Grizzlies had a fight in the first two quarters but things got serious in the third and that’s when Minnesota went ablaze. They established an 18-point lead after the third quarter and controlled much of the game during the fourth one.
They finished the game with a 17-point lead, 131-114.
Anthony Edwards led everyone with 33 points even if he only shot 1 out of 6 from beyond the arc. Julius Randle also had a field day with 27 points while Naz Reid got 20 off the bench. Rudy Gobert had 9 points and ruled the rebounding with 16.
Ty Jerome top scored for the Grizzlies with 20 points, followed by GG Jackson who had 19.

Ty makes Memphis Grizzlies debut
Jerome was acquired by Grizzlies from the Cleveland Cavaliers on July 2025 and signed him for three years worth $28 million. He is coming off a career season with the Cavs in the 2024-25 NBA calendar when he averaged 12.5 points per game as a starter.
Unfortunately, his debut he had to wait for more than half as season to make a debut after suffering a high-grade right calf strain during pre-season.
He wasted no time in proving that he is worth the contract. He also had 6 assists in the game.

Iisalo is impressed with his new player.
“He did all the things that we expected him to do for us this season”
