Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra reflected on Jimmy Butler’s five-and-a-half-year run with the team. Despite the messy breakup, Spoelstra said he will never forget his fond memories with his former star.

“It was a five-and-a-half-year chapter, you know, that’s equivalent to when Pat (Riley) was coaching with the Lakers, probably like a 10-year chapter,” Spoelstra said via ClutchPoints’ Zachary Weinberger. “I mean it’s a transient league now. So that’s a pretty long chapter.”
“There are a lot of different highs and lows with that. But, yeah, I’ll look back on it fondly, you know, I have a picture from he and I from the bubble that I don’t know who took it, nobody. We didn’t know. You know, they took it. I’ll definitely look back on that. Those were extraordinary times. And those are memories that you know we’ll all keep,” he added.

The Miami Heat had a video tribute to Jimmy Butler during their home game against the Golden State Warriors last night, and the six-time NBA All-Star expressed his gratitude to the fan base for their support.
