The Miami Heat are back in the winning column by blowing out their last two opponents, huge thanks to their offense clicking again. The Florida team did it despite missing their two stars – Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro.

Their offense was just splendid in the last two wins. They scored 126 points in win over the Atlanta Hawks and followed it up with a 142-116 over the Indiana Pacers. They stepped on the plate in the second half in both instances as they scored 63 2nd half points vs Atlanta and 83 2nd half points vs Indiana.

The personnel who struggled during their losing streak found their groove back. Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 28 points from the bench vs Pacers while Andrew Wiggins had similar scoring output.

Nikola Jovic, who missed six straight games before the last two wins, added 19 points.

These guys provided reinforcements as Adebayo and Herro continue their recovery. The former missed the last two while Herro hasn’t been around since December 9.

    Miami Heat can’t be complacent

Norman Powell is the more consistent guy in the team. The shooting guard acquired over the summer from the Los Angeles Clippers is the team’s top scorer with 23.7 points.

The 32-year-old emerges as one of the leaders of the team without the longer-tenured guys. He celebrated the return of their deadly offense but warned against complacency.

“We know the style of basketball we need to play…we just gotta continue that — we can’t get complacent, we can’t get overconfident,” he said.

“Teams know what they’re facing and the style of basketball that we’re going to play…so we gotta adjust and meet that same energy.”

Adebayo has been upgraded to probable in the latest Heat injury report. As for Herro, fans will have to wait a little longer as latest news says there’s not time table for his return.
