The Miami Heat have struggled since trading away Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors. The Heat has played 18 games since they traded away the six-time All-Star and have only won four times. On Wednesday, they added another loss to their record after a 116-113 loss against the Detroit Pistons. They failed to prevent the game-winning shot from All-Star guard Cade Cunningham.
Amid their troubling situation, Heat legend Udonis Haslem offers one piece of advice to the franchise. For him, Miami needs to keep pushing and fighting despite the losing record.
“Continue to fight,” Haslem said. “I tell these guys all the time, the easiest thing to do in the world is being a loser. Anybody can do that. You gotta continue to fight. You gotta continue to push through each other. You gotta have those uncomfortable eye-to-eye communication with each other and all of us are being judged.

“All of us being judged. The guys in the locker room are being judged, the coaches are being judged. Hell, I’m being judged sitting in this panel by what I say because I’m a Heat culture guy. All of us are being judged. What are you gonna do?
“The world is watching the Miami Heat to see if Heat culture is gonna pull through or if Heat culture is gonna break. I gotta believe in those guys in the locker room. I know those guys personally. I know that coaching staff, I know those guys are gonna come out and continue to fight.”

Miami Heat’s head coach wants the team to “stay the course” following a tough loss against the Pistons

Through the many losses the Miami Heat has had, one of the toughest ones they had to deal with was their recent game against Detroit. With the clock winding down, Cunningham knocked down a 3-pointer over star center Bam Adebayo.
Erik Spoelstra, the head coach, praised his team’s performance following a heartbreaking defeat. He claims that the team performed a lot of things correctly, which is why they were tied with the Pistons before Cunningham’s game-winning shot. Despite the numerous challenges they have faced, Spoelstra stated that they had no choice but to “stay the course” and find greater resolve.
The Houston Rockets will be the Heat’s next opponent on Friday. Even though they have only faced the Rockets once, they managed to win 104-100.
