There have been rumours that the Miami Heat are planning to offload Terry Rozier via trade or buyout, as he is part of a federal investigation related to sports betting. But it might not happen anytime soon, as the team might need him to fill in for the injured Tyler Herro.

During Media Day, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra spoke about Rozier’s preparedness ahead of the 2025-26 NBA campaign.
“I think any one of us could look at last season and say, ‘Whoa, what was that?’ And that’s just the way it was. But what you can control is your approach every day, and Terry’s been in the gym since the middle of July. He’s been working with Jeff Ruiz on his body, his fitness, he’s in great shape, he’s lost 10, 12 pounds. Body fat is down. He’s moving great,” Spoelstra said about Rozier via ClutchPoints’ Zachary Weinberger.

“He’s a hooper. So when I said, there’s an unknown and there’s an openness, I’m open to the start of the season, and I’m not going to judge players or put them in preconceived boxes right now. We need some jumps, some pops. And I want to have an environment that’s open to guys stepping up,” he added.
Miami Heat News: Tyler Herro opens up on his foot injury
Tyler Herro spoke to the media for the first time since his foot surgery during the Miami Heat’s Media Day on Monday.

“I was working out in Miami-Dade in the middle of July,” Herro detailed via Wes Goldberg. “I was doing my warmup, and I felt like a crazy pinch in my foot out of nowhere. It was very random. We didn’t know what it was, so I got an MRI, nothing showed up on the MRI. And then the foot specialist said I was born with an extra bone in the back of my foot, and it’s like a very small bone.
“We did a (Platlet-Rich Plasma) shot, cortisone shot, another PRP shot. So we tried everything before surgery. Ultimately, it was two, three weeks in-between each shot — from July to now — it adds up, and we got to a week ago, and I was like, ‘Bro, I still feel the same pinch in my foot that I felt in July.’ Ultimately, I was working out and I was trying to ramp up and be ready to go for training camp, but there was no way I was going to be able to play through that pinch,” he added.
