The Miami Heat has reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with Nassir Little, making him the 15th player on the roster. Little’s contract is expected to be a non-guaranteed or a partially guaranteed deal because of the team’s salary cap situation.

Before joining the Miami Heat, Nassir Little worked out for several other NBA teams, including the Sacramento Kings, Boston Celtics, and the Golden State Warriors. He became an unrestricted free agent last month when the Phoenix Suns waived him.

Nassir Little, 24, made 45 regular season appearances (two starts) for the Phoenix Suns in 2023-24, averaging 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds on 46 percent shooting in 10.2 minutes per night.

The former North Carolina star spent the first four years of his NBA career with the Portland Trail Blazers, who drafted him with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Overall, Nassir Little is averaging 5.5 points and 2.9 rebounds on 45.2 percent shooting in 15.8 minutes per game.

Where does Nassir Little fit in with the Miami Heat?

Nassir Little’s role will stay the same even with the Miami Heat, as he is expected to play behind Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Duncan Robinson, and Haywood Highsmith.

However, if Jimmy Butler is still not 100 percent fit next season, Little could play more minutes than usual for Erik Spoelstra and co.

Nassir Little is far from a finished article, so he will greatly benefit from the Miami Heat, who have an uncanny ability to find diamonds in the rough throughout the years.
