Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier is not yet out of the woods after he was initially cleared from a betting scandal that took place in 2023, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Renowned NBA insider Chris Haynes recently dropped an update about Rozier, saying that the Miami Heat guard “remains under federal investigation on a potential gambling probe.”

Rozier had been accused of allegedly manipulating his performance, as there has been an alarming number of under bets taken on his stat lines. The situation is eerily similar to the one that led to Jontay Porter’s perpetual ban from the league last season while playing for the Toronto Raptors.

Another player under federal investigation for gambling is Malik Beasley, who hasn’t re-signed with the Detroit Pistons this summer despite having a productive 2024-25 campaign.

Miami Heat legend approves of the team acquiring Norman Powell from the Los Angeles Clippers

The Miami Heat will likely won’t miss Terry Rozier much after the team recently acquired Norman Powell on a three-team deal with the Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz. Speaking on his podcast, Dwyane Wade explained why he likes this move for his former team.

“At this point in his career this is the perfect place for him to get to that level that he was just on the cusp of, that All-Star level, being one of the best players,” Wade said about Powell.

“I got a text and it’s just like ‘Hey big bro, I’m on my way. I’m going down to Miami dawg. I can’t wait to put a jersey on,” he continued. “I know how much inspiration he took from the player that I was, being a guy that’s in that 6’3″-6’4″, compact, quick, explosive.”
