Tyler Herro averages 28.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists on 49/47/90 shooting splits for the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs. Despite this, Miami are in a 0-2 hole against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Miami Heat made a late push but ultimately came up short in their 121-112 defeat in Game 2 last Wednesday. After the game, Herro vowed to continue to give it his all for the team in their next few games.

“I don’t think there’s any moral victories in this, honestly,” Herro said via Miami Herald’s Anthony Chiang. “But you can take some things, the positives from this and try to carry it over to Game 3.”

“We’ll watch film, put a game plan together, see what we can take from this game and carry over to the next. I thought we came out better tonight. We had a better disposition on both sides, but we’re going to need that for a full 48 minutes,” he added.

Miami Heat News: Nikola Jovic takes the blame for the team losing Game 2

Nikola Jovic returned for the Miami Heat in Game 2 – his first game in over two months following a hand injury. The Serbian forward helped spark a rally that cut a 13-point deficit at the start of the final period to only a two-point deficit in the last few minutes.

However, the Miami Heat couldn’t complete the comeback, as Jovic missed four three-point attempts and committed two costly turnovers with less than three minutes left.

“The stuff that I did at the end is really unacceptable. I really did cost us the game and I just got to be better,” Jovic lamented. “This is my third year. I’m not a rookie anymore. I’ve seen what’s the deal and how to get to the playoffs, and the stuff that I did today was just not good. I got to be better. It’s not the regular season. If we took this one, it’s 1-1, we are headed back home and we’re feeling great.”
