Netflix’s ‘The Last Dance’ documentary is the only reason why the Chicago Bulls have become relevant in the last five years and it even won accolades. The documentary, which was about the last years of NBA great Michael Jordan with the team won Best Documentary in the AAFCA Awards, Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series in the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and many more.

Basketball fans were enamored by the detailed account of MJ’s basketball life but they might have been duped.
Another former teammate has come out to say that the documentary might have been framed in a certain way to glorify the man considered the Greatest of All Time by many.
Horace Grant played with MJ in the Bulls from 1987 to 1994 thought the narrative was specifically told in a way that make them look bad.

“Once I saw it, they cut that thing like, sliced it up. I mean, I’m sitting there and I couldn’t believe it, to be honest,” Grant said in an appearance in Stacey King’s “Gimme The Hot Sauce” podcast.
“To be transparent, I could not believe how much they cut it up and made the majority of us look incompetent.”
Grant joins Scottie Pippen on negative view about Michael Jordan docu
Scottie Pippen, MJ’s partner on the court and with whom he won all his six championships with, was the first to voice displeasure about the Netflix documentary.
He insisted that there is no riff between him and MJ but he was wounded and disappointed over his portrayal in the show. He said that it was not accurate and was just more about Jordan getting his image uplifted.

“I don’t think it was that accurate in terms of really defining what was accomplished in one of the greatest eras of basketball, but also by two of the greatest players – and one could even put that aside and say the greatest team of all time,” Pippen said in an interview with The Guardian around four months since the docu’s release.
“I didn’t think those things stood out in the documentary. I thought it was more about Michael trying to uplift himself and to be glorified [the series was co-produced by Jordan’s Jump 23 company]. I think it also backfired to some degree in that people got a chance to see what kind of personality Michael had.”
Pippen’s stance softened after three years.
