The Denver Nuggets are 6-3, tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves in their division and good for fifth in the Western Conference in the early weeks of the 2024-25 NBA season. Two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic just recorded his third consecutive triple-double in the team’s 135-122 win over the Miami Heat, Denver’s fourth straight victory.
The recent win streak has led many to breathe a sigh of relief in regard to the Nuggets, who started the year 2-3. With an aging roster, they know that their window to win another NBA Championship is closing quickly. If they do not win it all again this year, as they did in the summer of 2023, they face the brutal reality of trying to remain relevant as their key players show signs of age (see this year’s Milwaukee Bucks).
Sports Reporter Michelle Beadle Accidentally Drops Racist Slur When Discussing the Denver Nuggets

The fact that the Nuggets have an aging roster made their slow start concerning. Despite their recent win streak, many believe that failing to win the NBA title again this year would mean that big changes will happen in Denver.
Michael Porter Jr. went so far as to say the team should blow up their roster if that was the case. When discussing his comments on Fan Duel TV, sports reporter Michelle Beadle accidentally used a racist slur when referring to the Nuggets:

“Michale Porter Jr. recently said that if he n******, I mean Nuggets, don’t win the NBA Championship, they might have to break up the team.”
Fans on social media were quick to pounce, as one might have expected:
She definitely says it at home when she’s all alone 😂😂😂

Been a Nuggets fan forever and that word has never slipped. Obviously a word she uses often.

Typically, you don’t “accidentally” say words that you don’t normally say on a regular basis

As she awkwardly tried to get through the segment, her cohost, Lou Williams, said “You covered in the club, I got you. Ain’t nobody gonna say nothing.”
It appears a lot of somebodies said something, though.
