The Michigan State Spartans returned from 14 down to secure their victory against Oregon 86-74. The Spartans’ resume still lacks depth at the top, but continuing to stack quality wins will keep them in good shape seed-wise.
Spartans head coach Tom Izzo ties Bob Knight with 353 Big Ten wins and will look to earn the most on Tuesday against Indiana. Michigan State was locked in on the defensive end in the second half.
Michigan State Spartans: Jase’s Performance Against Oregon

Freshman shooting guard Jase Richardson dropped 29 points in his first career start as a Spartan. This was his best performance of the season. He did not commit any turnovers today and displayed his ability as a dynamic scorer.
He looked extremely comfortable on both sides of the floor all night and operated in pick-and-roll scenarios well. Richardson also showed off his craftiness with the ball in his hands and displayed an ability to hit his shots at a highly efficient clip.
Michigan Sate Spartans: Richardson’s Production on The Court

No one could stop him, as he made 3’s and got to the basket whenever he wanted. He put on an absolute show down the stretch and sent Oregon to its first five-game losing streak in 11 years.
He is expected to present a significant challenge to opposing teams for the remainder of the season. I have begun to recognize him as a potential lottery pick in the forthcoming NBA Draft.
Michigan State Spartans: Jase’s Contributions to the Spartans

The freshman athlete contributed significantly to the team’s success by securing a victory, thereby playing a crucial role in maintaining their competitive standing in the Big Ten title race. The Spartans require his continued high-level performance to achieve their objectives.
This game has dispelled any uncertainty regarding Jase’s ability to perform as a primary scorer. It is now appropriate to permanently elevate him to the starting lineup and designate him as the primary option.
